One Creative Crow
Hello!
My name is Megan Crow, and I am a commissioned artist in the Seattle area. While I mainly create with watercolor, I also dabble in other subjects like digital and acrylic art for my memorial portraits, whether they be humans, pets, houses, or even a beloved car.
My Story
Like most artists, I was a creative child, but my artistic pursuits faded as I grew up and went through college. During the first months of COVID, I reconnected with my creative side while designing a logo for my dog training business centered on my dachshund. I bought an iPad for the Procreate app and, after finishing the logo, I started doodling other people's dogs for fun. Despite my continuing education in animal behavior and building my dog training business, I felt a strong pull to keep creating in my free time. Many of the paintings you see on this website are of my own dog training clients' pets.
In 2022, I had surgery on my dominant hand and arm, making digital art painful and difficult. I had gotten into the habit of gifting many of my dog training clients a portrait of their dog, so even while recovering, I still wanted to create. On a whim, I picked up some very watercolor supplies and discovered I could paint with my left hand because of the flowing, easy nature of watercolors.
Once I healed, I went back to using my right hand, and watercolor painting turned out to be much easier on my nerve-damaged arm than digital art. Since then, I've been commissioned from all over the country for my portraits, and participated in local vendor fairs here in Washington. It's been amazing to see how stretching my creative muscles has evolved into a fulfilling passion blending my love for animals and art.
